About the position

The Principal Transportation Planner position at Hillsborough County involves managing projects that integrate land use and transportation planning to enhance community infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Manage the collection, analysis, and presentation of traffic data and trends.
  • Evaluate multimodal operations and safety in relation to land development proposals.
  • Oversee the extraction of information for studies and reports on transportation systems.
  • Manage the analysis of land use, economic base, and community facilities in planning reports.
  • Write and interpret zoning and land development regulations.
  • Develop comprehensive plans for future land use and transportation.
  • Represent the organization at meetings with officials and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Urban or Community Planning.
  • Three years of experience as a transportation planner, with two years as a project leader.
  • Knowledge of comprehensive planning principles and practices.
  • Experience with data collection methods and statistical analysis techniques.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills.

Nice-to-haves
