About The Position

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry. This position fills the need for a Systems Engineer to execute delivery of visual products for flight simulators on a key US military aircraft. The person who fills this role may lead or assist with other program deliveries, internal product development, or bids and proposals. They will oversee technical teams installing Collins visual systems, represent Collins in front of customers, and lead product acceptance test events. The candidate must possess a solid technical background and have demonstrated ability to resolve complex challenges. They must have a keen ability to understand the architecture of complex systems and practical ability to troubleshoot issues, including comfort with hands-on equipment work. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and teamwork skills and outstanding communication skills. They will have experience with decomposition and verification of technical requirements. Prior experience with flight simulation or visual display products, such as projection systems or image generators, is highly desired.

Requirements

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
  • Strong conceptual, planning, and problem-solving skills and a robust technical background
  • Experience with validation and verification of technical requirements
  • Ability to travel up-to 50% of the time
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Nice To Haves

  • Active Secret Security Clearance Preferred
  • Knowledge of core concepts of simulator visual systems, such as display systems or image generators
  • Experience with SolidWorks preferred
  • Previous mechanical design experience preferred
