About the position

The Principal/Sr Principal Configuration Management Analyst at Northrop Grumman plays a crucial role in supporting configuration management governance and planning activities. This position involves the development and maintenance of configuration management tools, administering change processes, and ensuring that changes are documented according to program requirements. The analyst will also control technical baselines, generate reports on configured items, and coordinate configuration audit activities, all while ensuring compliance with company and program processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support CM Governance and Planning activities.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Configuration Management tools.
  • Administer change processes and ensure changes are documented in accordance with program requirements.
  • Control technical baselines and coordinate the development and maintenance of the systems, tools, and environments they are stored in.
  • Generate reports that provide the status of configured items and the maturity of technical baselines.
  • Administer Configuration audit activities for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure program data has been approved, distributed, and managed appropriately in accordance with company, sector, and program approved processes.
  • Review contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of the project, using knowledge of software processes for Configuration Management.
  • Analyze proposed changes of product builds to determine effect on overall product and system.
  • Coordinate modification records for management control.
  • Establish change requests and prepare change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor.
  • Maintain traceability of changes on products and documentation throughout the life cycle.
  • Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, and engineering data control activities.
  • Support program configuration and data management requirements.

Requirements

  • Principal level: Bachelor's degree and 6 years of relative experience, Master's degree and 4 years of experience, or additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Sr Principal level: Bachelor's degree and 10 years of relative experience, Master's degree and 8 years of experience, or additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on or with a Release Team to deliver product to customer.
  • Knowledge of Configuration Control Boards.
  • Experience with JIRA/Confluence preferred.
