Microsoft is looking for an experienced, innovative, and customer focused Principal Sourcing Engineer to join the Strategic Sourcing team, responsible for driving the Silicon strategy and performance to achieve the financial and business targets for Xbox and Surface Hardware. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 6+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience

Doctorate in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles. OR Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles. OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 12+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles. OR equivalent experience.
6+ years industry experience in consumer electronics in the semiconductor and silicon space.
Experience in Chipset or Wireless sourcing or sales.
Experience in negotiating complex contracts and deals.
Proficient storytelling and influencing skills with a track record of developing and nurturing key stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

Own the supply chain and sourcing activities for Microsoft Devices Chipset including negotiating commercial agreements, negotiating cost, optimizing the collaboration between the teams and developing long term strategy to grow a robust partnership.
Engage with cross-functional leadership including architecture, engineering, product management, and business teams to determine best design solution and supply base to deliver that solution at optimal supply chain and cost.
Manage contracting activities with Legal and ensure contracts reflect appropriate business terms, IP protection, etc.
Build multi-sourcing strategies to mitigate risk and drive appropriate competition.
Analyze the overall supply chain to identify risk and drive resolution to systemic issues affecting quality, cost, delivery or lead-times.
Provide thought leadership and manage strategic initiatives with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support Microsoft Devices objectives and strategies.
Manages the supplier relationship, leading and coordinating efforts to drive supplier performance improvement across all areas of the business.
