About the position

The Envisioneering Principal Radio Frequency (RF) Engineer/Scientist is a senior staff scientist role responsible for leading scientific efforts in support of the Naval Research Laboratory's Tactical Electronic Warfare Division. This position focuses on applying extensive experience in RF spectrum technologies to address critical defense challenges for naval forces, collaborating closely with government scientists and engineers to advance research and development projects in electronic warfare and directed energy applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead scientific research and development in RF spectrum technologies for naval electronic warfare systems.
• Collaborate with government scientists and engineers to advance existing R&D projects.
• Investigate and propose novel solutions related to RF energy applications in electronic warfare and countermeasures.
• Translate technical solutions into proof-of-concept approaches for prototype system development and testing.
• Conduct assessments of studies and phenomenology related to RF technologies.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in a physics or engineering field (15+ with PhD).
• Experience in design, development, and implementation of electronic warfare systems or high-power microwave systems for DoD applications.
• Familiarity with DoD research and development and intelligence organizations in directed energy weapons or RF countermeasure technology.
• Strong understanding of digital signal processing concepts and communication technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with RF measurements and writing associated test plans.
• Must possess a Top-Secret Clearance.
• Master's degree (Ph.D preferred) in Physics or Engineering discipline.
