About the position
AOL is seeking an energetic and driven designer to lead design initiatives across its core consumer products. This role involves guiding design projects, building partnerships with product managers and engineers, shaping design strategy, and fostering a culture of high-quality visual design. The designer will have the opportunity to impact products that touch millions of users daily, ensuring that designs are both beautiful and functional.
Responsibilities
- Lead major design initiatives and guide the design team.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other designers to create user-friendly products.
- Shape the design vision and strategy for consistency and quality across products.
- Raise the bar for visual design culture at AOL through energy and commitment.
- Effectively communicate and sell design ideas to various stakeholders.
Requirements
- 7 years of experience in digital product design for web and mobile.
- Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design instincts, preferably with a focus on editorial design.
- Experience in leading design teams and managing projects from start to finish.
- Deep understanding of user-centered design principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with different teams.
- Passion for design and keeping up with industry trends.
