About The Position

GliaCell is seeking a Principal HPC Software Engineer to support a U.S. Government customer on one of our subcontracts. This full-time position involves providing technical expertise to sustain critical mission-related software and systems for a large government contract. GliaCell Technologies focuses on Software & System Engineering in Enterprise and Cyber Security solution spaces, excelling at delivering stable and reliable software solutions using Agile Software Development principles. Our Enterprise capabilities include Full-Stack Application Development, Big Data, Cloud Technologies, Analytics, Machine Learning, AI, and DevOps Containerization. We also provide customer solutions in Cyber Network Defense (CND), Cyber Network Exploitation (CNE), and Cyber Network Operations (CNO) through assessments and solutions in Threat Mitigation, Vulnerability Exposure, Penetration Testing, Threat Hunting, and Preventing Advanced Persistent Threat.

Requirements

  • Possess an active or rein-statable TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university & 7 years of experience as an HSE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Or, a Master’s degree in Math, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus 5 years of experience as an HSE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Works well independently as well as on a team.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the distributed computing FOSS software frameworks below is beneficial.
  • Experience with Apache Spark, Dask, Ray is beneficial
  • Experience developing software in these languages is beneficial: Python, Scala, Java, C

Responsibilities

  • Design, document and execute tests of FOSS, COTS and GOTS software architectures to determine what aspects of the software and/or computer infrastructure are limiting performance.
  • Research and identify metrics necessary to understand performance limitations of the software and/or computer infrastructure to support testing.
  • Research and identify monitoring necessary to support timely alerting of infrastructure and software failures encountered during testing.
  • Identify hardware and software failure trends and develop mitigations encountered during testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis.
  • Work with the customer metrics and monitoring team to introduce new metrics capabilities to support testing.
  • Modify the software architecture and/or develop new software capabilities to overcome performance limitations encountered during testing.
