About the position

The data and analytics Enterprise Architect enables business and IT leaders to make investment decisions that balance and prioritize current operational demands, disruptions, and opportunities with the longer-term strategic vision of the organization. Furthermore, the Enterprise Architect provides technology guidance, road maps, principles, standards, and best practices. The Enterprise Architect plays a critical role in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of our systems. This role requires a deep understanding of data and analytics technologies and processes. The Enterprise Architect should be a strategic thinker, able to align IT initiatives with overall business goals, while also possessing the technical skills to deliver complex projects.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with both business and technology teams to craft and steer corporate and business strategies for data, analytics, ML and AI.
  • Partner and collaborate with all stakeholders to understand and translate goals and objectives into data & analytics architectures and models.
  • Create and maintain reusable analytics artifacts and patterns, including conceptual, logical and physical data models.
  • Develop data & analytics policies, standards, guidelines, procedures and metrics that measure architectural quality and business outcomes.
  • Engage with implementation teams to encourage and promote use of existing models, methods, services and other artifacts.
  • Work as part of the program management team on large programs, governing and shaping the delivery of projects.
  • Research architectural paradigms and modern architecture constructs.
  • Ensure compatibility with existing infrastructure, services and strategic requirements.
  • Communicate the objectives and business outcomes of the data & analytics technology architecture.
  • Provide support and leadership to inform and aid evaluation and decision making in data & analytics technology spending.
  • Participate in the data & analytics ecosystem strategy development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of relevant work experience, or a minimum of 12 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience with large scale transformative projects.
  • Utility industry experience or adjacent industry experience.
  • Proven ability to lead cross functional teams to meet organizational objectives.
  • Experience in leading large / complex cross-functional Enterprise wide programs.
  • Demonstrated capabilities in leadership, innovation, problem solving, influencing, organizing, relationship building, communications skills, strategic thinking, project management and change management.
  • Understanding of analytical and independent problem-solving skills.
  • Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and juggle competing priorities.
  • Excellent skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail; follows through to ensure accuracy and comprehensiveness.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
