About the position

The Principal Enterprise Cyber Architect at SoCalGas plays a crucial role in shaping the technology strategy and direction across various business and IT domains. Reporting to an IT Director or VP, this position is responsible for leading the development of a holistic cyber architecture that aligns with the company's strategic objectives. The architect will engage with executive stakeholders to ensure that architecture decisions support business needs and drive innovation in technology solutions. This role is pivotal in establishing standards and guiding principles for cyber architecture, ensuring that the organization can respond effectively to changing business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze cyber industry and market technology trends to determine potential impacts on the enterprise and drive organizational strategy.
  • Own the overall utilities cyber architecture approach, guiding principles, and standards on cross-organization initiatives.
  • Define conceptual and logical cyber architecture specifications for the enterprise.
  • Set strategy for building and maintaining the enterprise's cyber-Architectural Runway.
  • Participate in strategic planning and blueprinting exercises with executive stakeholders as an expert on enterprise technology strategy.
  • Engage with business stakeholders to design enterprise cyber technology solutions on a resilient and scalable architectural foundation.
  • Collaborate with executives and manage relationships with leadership, architects, and engineers to ensure broad adoption of enterprise architecture principles.
  • Lead architectural initiatives and develop frameworks to enable technology development and operations.
  • Establish and execute an architecture management process to ensure consistency across the enterprise.
  • Model agility in leadership to encourage iterative delivery focused on business value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 12 years of progressive experience in software engineering, technology design, and/or IT Architecture across multiple products, systems, and/or platforms.
  • 7 years of experience executing high-profile projects and providing thought leadership to an organization.
  • 5 years of related experience in technology leadership positions, working with executive stakeholders and driving organizational vision and strategy.
  • 5 years of experience delivering in DevOps environments, including CI/CD pipelines and agile practices.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in technology leadership positions with a focus on executive stakeholder engagement.
  • Familiarity with distributed computing models and the ability to design and maintain distributed computing infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of design-led ways of working that integrate user needs with business and technical possibilities.
