About the position

The Principal Data Architect role at Disney Experiences (DX) Tech & Digital focuses on driving advanced data architectures specifically for Generative AI applications. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality AI solutions within strategic projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance the digital experience across Disney's vacation brands.

Responsibilities

  • Assess internal and external business and product requirements to provide guidance and innovative solutions for generative AI applications.
  • Design, develop, and lead the implementation of advanced, scalable generative AI architectures, including data pipelines and model training frameworks.
  • Integrate automation methodologies like big data, AI, and machine learning to ensure data quality and security for generative AI models.
  • Stay updated on generative AI research, identifying new techniques to improve model performance.
  • Establish design and governance frameworks for the ethical use of generative AI technologies.
  • Engage in estimation planning and provide technical recommendations during planning activities.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor and optimize generative AI solutions to meet business objectives.
  • Document and share knowledge to foster continuous learning within the team.
  • Operationalize best practices around vector search technologies like neo4j, Vertex Search, and Elastic Search.
  • Evaluate NLP outcomes with data science metrics and implement feedback loops into the data pipeline.

Requirements

  • 10+ years related work experience.
  • Proven experience in designing and building scalable data architectures for machine learning/AI applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of generative AI models (e.g., GANs, VAEs) and their applications.
  • Experience with RAG, vector stores, semantic search, and large data handling for LLMs.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices.
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Passion for innovation and commitment to ethical AI development.
  • Experience building LLMs pipeline using frameworks like LangChain and OpenAI functions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study.
