About the position
The position involves leading projects and engaging with stakeholders to enhance U.S. Customs and Border Protection operations through advanced technology solutions in communications and networking. The role requires a strong background in systems engineering and the ability to analyze and address operational challenges, ultimately contributing to national security and border protection efforts.
Responsibilities
- Engage with stakeholders to analyze operational requirements and apply technology solutions.
- Lead projects and tasks, including planning, execution, and team leadership.
- Perform analyses of sensor, software, and communications problems, and present findings.
- Conduct sensor, wireless, and network engineering, including modeling and simulation.
- Identify additional project opportunities to expand the technical work portfolio.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 8 years with a Master's; or a PhD with 5 years' experience; or equivalent education and experience.
- Active Top-Secret clearance and ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security fitness.
- Ability to lead teams and projects effectively.
- Strong understanding of system engineering principles related to sensor and communications systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for engaging customers.
Nice-to-haves
- An advanced degree in RF communications, wireless networks, or related fields.
- Experience with network engineering concepts including cybersecurity and cloud environments.
- Hands-on experience with wireless and SATCOM engineering trade studies.
- Proficiency in multiple network and communications modeling and simulation tools.
- Experience with field and lab testing equipment for communications systems.
