The Principal Business Development Manager role supports all BCT product lines by driving and supporting new business across multiple product lines. Primary focus will be on strategic growth and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Primary focus is on strategic growth and new business efforts across multiple product lines.
  • Create, manage, and lead capture plans for future business and strategic partnerships.
  • Respond in a timely manner to customer inquiries and RFIs/RFPs with support from the corresponding product line teams.
  • Demonstrated experience with customer engagement through existing and new network connections and show ability to grow new business opportunities.
  • Maintain Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool for emerging and near-term contracts.
  • Determine Price to Win (PTW) and collaborate on pricing strategies with stakeholders.
  • Help estimate and adhere to internal financial budgets for New Business Investments (NBI), conferences, trade shows, customers visits, and marketing materials.
  • Evaluate/track industry trends, economic macro forces, competitor information and provide actionable recommendations to the management team.
  • Contribute to strategy for Long Range Plan (LRP) forecasting with product line managers, financial team, and leadership.
  • Support transition new contracts with the corresponding product and functional teams to ensure smooth hand-off.
  • Utilize customer insights and market data to inform the development and evolution of the product line roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team and product line managers to develop new marketing material, press releases, and social media posts.
  • Promote information sharing across lines of business to effectively capture market share and help with product roadmaps.
  • Fundamental understanding and shows a genuine motivation and curiosity for the aerospace/space industry at large.
  • Travel 25% of the time may be part of the job.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Engineering, Systems, Business Administration, or related discipline.
  • 12+ years of experience.
  • Strong leadership skills to lead strategic pursuits and galvanize cross-functional teams.
  • Efficient with time management skills.
  • Ability to develop, analyze, and articulate business cases.
  • Delivers detailed quality work products and develops innovative strategies.
  • May include personnel management responsibilities.
  • Experience working with and understanding off program management and technical concepts to develop cost, schedule, and technical concepts for proposals.
  • Proficient working on interdisciplinary teams including mechanical, electrical and software engineering.
  • Experience with commercial and government RFP/RFI response process, including short turn proposal responses.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills and willingness to share and transfer knowledge. Able to work well in a face-paced, dynamic team setting.
  • Experience working with subject matter experts to collect and create compelling proposal content and detailed responses.
  • Provides fundamental contributions to long-term strategic planning.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance preferred.
  • Related technical experience will be considered in lieu of education.
