About the position

The Principal Architect for the Public Sector at Palo Alto Networks is responsible for leading the technical strategy for strategic partnerships within the State, Local, and Education (SLED) customer segment. This role involves acting as a technical advisor and thought leader, aligning solutions to customer needs, and enhancing sales productivity through effective communication and strategic engagement with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and drive national technical programs focused on the SLED customer segment.
• Design technical strategies and initiatives that address public sector needs in cybersecurity.
• Engage with key Manager, Director, VP, and CXO contacts to transform their security strategy.
• Educate prospects and customers on evolving network security and develop successful implementation strategies for Palo Alto Networks solutions.
• Work with sales teams to develop and deliver differentiated proposals that demonstrate business and technical value.
• Document technological/business value gaps between Palo Alto Networks and competitive offerings.
• Provide feedback to Product Management and Marketing based on customer engagements.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on SLED environments.
• Extensive knowledge of network, cloud, and endpoint security architectures.
• Experience developing complex multi-product architectures and communicating their value.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated with a strong problem-solving ability and organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in establishing credibility with large SLED accounts.
• BSCS or equivalent experience or military experience.
