About the position
The AGI team has a mission to push the envelope with multimodal LLMs and Gen AI in Computer Vision, in order to provide the best-possible experience for our customers. This role is part of the foundations modeling team with focus on model pre-training across modalities.
Responsibilities
- Define key research directions
- Adopt or invent new machine learning techniques
- Conduct rigorous experiments
- Publish results and ensure research is translated into practice
- Develop long-term strategies and persuade teams to adopt those strategies
- Propose goals and deliver on them
- Participate in organizational planning, hiring, mentorship, and leadership development
- Serve as a key scientific resource in full-cycle development (conception, design, implementation, testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance)
Requirements
- PhD with specialization in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, machine learning, or computational cognitive science
- 10+ years of combined academic and research experience
- Strong publication record in top-tier journals and conferences
- Functional thought leader, sought after for key tech decisions
- Ability to successfully sell ideas to an executive level decision maker
- Mentor and train the research scientist community on complex technical issues
- Experience developing software in traditional programming languages (C++, Java, etc.)
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
