About The Position

The Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production equipment and facility systems to ensure maximum uptime, efficiency, and safety throughout the plant. This position supports all departments by maintaining equipment in peak operating condition through scheduled maintenance, troubleshooting, inspections, and repairs. The technician works closely with department managers, supervisors, and production teams to minimize downtime while supporting production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
  • Experience working with industrial manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, conveyors, motors, and industrial systems.
  • Basic welding and fabrication experience using TIG, MIG, and Stick welding equipment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated and capable of prioritizing work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely use standard maintenance tools and specialized repair equipment.
  • Must provide own basic hand tools, including wrench and socket sets up to 1½ inches and equivalent metric sizes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production machinery, CNC equipment, facility systems, and related equipment throughout the plant.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on machinery and equipment.
  • Replace or repair worn, damaged, or defective components to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, blueprints, and technical documents to complete maintenance activities.
  • Perform servicing, testing, inspections, adjustments, and repairs on a variety of industrial equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and maintain machine components including shafts, bearings, gears, motors, and moving parts.
  • Identify root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions to reduce repeat issues.
  • Assist outside contractors, vendors, and service technicians during repairs, installations, and equipment upgrades.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with management and production teams to support production schedules and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, work orders, and parts usage documentation.
  • Identify and source replacement parts, maintenance supplies, and repair materials as needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, efficiency, and workplace organization.
  • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental requirements.
  • Follow and support 5S and housekeeping standards throughout the facility.
  • Safely operate hand tools, power tools, welders, lifts, and other maintenance equipment.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
