About the position

EPS Security is seeking a dedicated Preventative Maintenance Technician to join our team, playing a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of local communities. Our technicians are responsible for installing and programming advanced security solutions in homes and businesses across Michigan. This position offers a rewarding and hands-on career opportunity for individuals who are passionate about technology and community safety. As a Preventative Maintenance Technician, you will be trained to work with state-of-the-art brands, including First Alert®, DMP®, Digital Watchdog®, Notifier®, DSX®, and more. In this role, you will be tasked with testing various system components to ensure they operate correctly within the customer's facility. This includes using hand tools and volt/OHM meters to test backup batteries by removing AC power from the control and measuring battery voltage, testing intercom systems, access control systems, and cleaning all video systems. You will also communicate with the Technical Support department to verify that they are receiving proper signals during system testing. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to field train new employees, which may include individuals from other departments, to familiarize them with devices and testing procedures. You may also be responsible for training new customers or their employees. Recognizing and reporting service problems to the Monitoring Center or Supervisor/Manager is essential, as is performing routine service as directed. You will respond to alarms during storms as requested by management and complete all required paperwork in a timely manner. Maintaining a clean, organized, and stocked vehicle is also part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities
