Press Brake Operator - 1st Shift
About The Position
As our Press Brake Automation Operator, you will oversee one of the most advanced automated bending systems in the industry. Using state-of-the-art automation technology, you will ensure efficient machine performance while transforming raw sheet metal into high-precision components that meet our customers’ exact specifications. This is far beyond a conventional press brake operation. The system is highly intelligent, fast, and automated, requiring a detail-oriented and technically skilled operator to maximize performance, maintain quality standards, and support continuous production excellence.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience operating press brake or sheet metal forming equipment
- Ability to read blueprints and work orders
- Comfort working with Computer Numerical Control (CNC) controls and automated machine interfaces
- A sharp eye for quality and a no-compromise attitude toward accuracy
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving instincts
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain standing for extended periods throughout the workday
- Team-first mentality with solid communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Trade school or vocational training is a big bonus
- High school diploma or GED
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor advanced automated panel bending equipment for daily production runs
- Load, manage, and adjust programs through the machine's CNC control interface
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work orders accurately and efficiently
- Perform in-process inspections and quality checks to ensure all parts meet specification requirements
- Execute first-article setups and verify part quality prior to full production release
- Troubleshoot machine faults, tooling concerns, and material inconsistencies to minimize downtime
- Collaborate with engineers and programmers to optimize new part development and improve cycle times
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
- Accurately document production output, scrap, and quality records
- Contribute ideas for continuous improvement to enhance processes, efficiency, and overall performance
