About the position

The Preschool Teacher at Washington Park United Methodist Church (WPUMC) is responsible for fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for children's development. This role emphasizes the importance of emotional, social, intellectual, and physical growth, encouraging children to learn at their own pace. The teacher will engage with children through play and exploration, implement developmentally appropriate activities, and maintain professional communication with parents and staff.

Responsibilities

• Meeting the individual needs of the children
• Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning
• Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
• Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem and social skills
• Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
• Building teamwork

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 2 years of experience in Early Childhood Education
• 2 years of experience in Childcare
• Driver's License
