About the position

As a Teacher at Primrose School of Aldie, you will play a crucial role in fostering the development of young children by implementing a comprehensive program of activities that promote their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. This position requires a dedicated and enthusiastic individual who can create a nurturing and engaging classroom environment, adhering to the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
• Observe and comply with all health, safety, and care regulations.
• Assess each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedules.
• Plan and conduct parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with the Leadership Team.
• Maintain an attractive and well-kept classroom environment.
• Provide verbal recognition and set clear expectations for children's behavior.
• Handle maintenance and housekeeping duties for the classroom and common areas.
• Attend required staff meetings, workshops, and school functions.
• Maintain a professional appearance as per the employee handbook.
• Assist in other capacities as determined by the Director or designee.

Requirements

• Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program preferred.
• Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. for child handling and safety.
• For Infant and Young Toddler teachers, ability to lift infants into and out of cribs.
• Infant - Preschool Teachers: 2-year degree in early childhood or related field preferred.
• Pre-Kindergarten Teachers: 4-year degree in early childhood or related field required.
• Kindergarten Teacher: 4-year degree in early childhood and state certification required.

Nice-to-haves
