About the position

The Preschool Teacher Assistant will support the educational and developmental needs of children in a small, private preschool setting. This role involves providing individualized attention to children, fostering a nurturing and engaging learning environment, and assisting with various classroom activities and organization. The position is part-time, primarily during the day, and focuses on children from infancy to kindergarten.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized attention to support children's unique learning needs.
• Create a safe, engaging classroom environment that promotes curiosity, creativity, and learning.
• Lead 'Learning-Through-Play' activities with younger students while older students participate in traditional learning.
• Assist with classroom organization, including tidying up after activities and maintaining a clean and orderly learning space.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to the ongoing development of the preschool program.
• Perform daily maintenance and sanitation tasks to ensure a clean and safe classroom environment.
• Assist in serving lunch and snacks to children.
• Record children's activities and needs in the parent communication tool.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of early childhood development and educational best practices.
• Prior childcare experience (3 years required).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and assist with diaper changes and potty training.

Nice-to-haves

• Pediatric/Infant CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
