About the position
The Preschool and Childcare Center Director at Safari Kid is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the childcare center, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, and leading a team of educators. This role requires a passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and education to children from infancy through private kindergarten. The director will balance educational and operational needs while fostering a positive environment for both staff and children.
Responsibilities
- Observes all school rules and regulations and all local, state, and national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children.
- Has a strong working knowledge of EEC regulations and employment laws; acts as a role model ensuring regulatory and health & safety compliance in classrooms.
- Provides superior customer service to all external and internal customers.
- Responsible for managing the operations of the school including but not limited to open and close, licensing compliance, staff leadership & development, and marketing of the school.
- Creates a culture of engagement by empowering faculty members to find solutions for themselves.
- Assists in keeping school physically well kept, attractive, and safe.
- Assists in other capacities as assigned.
Requirements
- Must hold EEC Director II and Lead Teacher I/T/P Certification.
- A bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- At least five years of program administration experience in an EEC licensed large group program.
- At least five years of classroom teaching experience; experience teaching infants, toddlers, and preschool age students preferred.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
