About the position

The PREP COOK at HonorHealth plays a vital role in the food preparation process within the coffee shop and main kitchen. This position is responsible for preparing a variety of food items, ensuring quality and freshness, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role involves working with kitchen equipment, following standardized recipes, and coordinating food preparation schedules to meet service demands.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food on the coffee shop grill and cold plates.
  • Produce bulk salads, soups, vegetables, and starches.
  • Operate the cash register and maintain a neat work area.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to standardized recipes.
  • Wash and cut vegetables and fruits as per procedures.
  • Slice meats and prepare meat salads.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as grinders, ovens, choppers, mixers, and blenders.
  • Set up stations and assemble meals according to established schedules.
  • Ensure all foods prepared meet standards for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance.
  • Assemble and garnish cold salads, entrees, appetizers, and desserts for service.
  • Store and maintain prepared foods in optimal conditions and temperatures.
  • Plan and coordinate preparation schedules for timely food readiness.
  • Review forecast tally for production needs and adjust accordingly.
  • Maintain required sanitary levels throughout the food preparation process.
  • Verify food and supply items issued from storeroom and requisition additional items as needed.
  • Clean, inspect, and maintain kitchen equipment, tools, and utensils.

Requirements

  • Less than High School education required.
  • Food Handlers Card certification required.
