About The Position

The Prep & Rigging Technician is responsible for preparing vessel hulls, applying protective coatings, and assisting with the rigging and movement of boats within the marina. This role plays a key part in ensuring vessels are properly prepped, finished, and ready for launch while maintaining high safety and quality standards. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Minimum age of 21 years
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment

Nice To Haves

Prior marine, marina, or boatyard experience
Experience working on or around boats
Familiarity with marine coatings, surface preparation, and application techniques
Forklift or equipment operation experience

Responsibilities

Prepare boat hulls by scraping, sanding, grinding, and cleaning surfaces prior to paint application
Apply multiple coatings including epoxy primers, anti-fouling paints, and other marine finishes
Identify paint types and ensure proper selection and application techniques
Assist with basic rigging tasks related to launching, hauling, and positioning vessels
Support vessel movement and staging within the yard, including coordination with equipment operators
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety policies
Occasionally assist with vessel cleaning, hauling, and launching operations
Perform additional duties as assigned to support yard and marina operations
