About the position

The Premium Billing Specialist role is an entry-level position within a Healthcare Benefits Insurance Provider, focusing on providing exceptional customer service while managing premium billing functions. The position involves analyzing, researching, and resolving customer inquiries related to billing and payment processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide superior customer service while completing premium billing functions.
  • Analyze, research, and resolve customer inquiries related to billing.
  • Receive inbound calls from customers and provide assistance for routine inquiries.
  • Resolve customer issues on the initial call or follow up as needed.
  • Educate members and groups on billing and payment processes.
  • Make outbound calls to notify members of delinquent accounts.
  • Assist members in enrolling in the online billing and payment system.
  • Verify customer eligibility for reinstatement reviews and complete necessary documentation.
  • Collaborate with other departments to correct member accounts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year of customer service experience
  • Intermediate computer skills in spreadsheets and word processing software
  • Good phone voice and strong communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Healthcare experience (not required)

Benefits

  • $20 per hour pay
