About the position

The Preferred Relationship Manager at Fifth Third Bank is a sales-focused role responsible for acquiring, growing, and retaining bank customers, particularly those in the Preferred Program and mass affluent prospects. The position emphasizes proactive customer engagement, needs-based assessments, and collaboration with internal partners to provide tailored financial solutions. The role also involves maintaining a positive customer experience while adhering to the bank's risk management policies.

Responsibilities

• Execute retail strategies to increase Preferred Program households and fulfill customer needs.
• Build deep relationships with customers to become a trusted advisor.
• Simplify and communicate complex financial concepts effectively.
• Participate in financial center meetings to support sales and motivational activities.
• Guide the Financial Center team in the referral and sales process for Preferred customers.
• Maintain knowledge of the complete line of products and services offered by the bank.
• Meet or exceed brokerage sales and referral goals set by management.
• Initiate and maintain contact with customers and prospects through various methods.
• Stay current on industry and economic trends to anticipate customer needs.

Requirements

• College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience in a sales environment, preferably in the financial industry.
• Pass consultative selling skills certification and complete ongoing educational requirements.
• Series 6, 63, and insurance licenses required.
• Series 65 must be obtained within 90 days of hire with a maximum of two attempts.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a revenue-producing book of business in the mass affluent segment.
• Professional image and ability to interact with the public.
