About the position

The Instructional Aide position is a non-exempt role that reports directly to the Principal. The aide will assist teachers in various instructional and administrative tasks, ensuring a supportive learning environment for students. This role requires effective communication and the ability to work well with children in both individual and group settings.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.
• Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups or whole class.
• Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• When substitute is unavailable, cover classroom assignments as needed.
• Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education.
• Obtained an associate's degree or higher.
• Meet a rigorous standard of quality test.
• Ability to work well with children and in a 1-on-1 setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Experience working with children.
• Ability to handle high stress and fast paced work environment.
