About The Position

The Production Line lead will oversee manufacturing activities on a specified production line. ZIEHL-ABEGG is the world leading fan and motor manufacturer with over 100 years of experience, providing innovative and energy-efficient solutions.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred
  • Proven work experience as an Assembly Technician or similar role preferred
  • Dexterity and hand-eye coordination, including the ability to grasp, manipulate, and assemble parts and components that vary in size
  • The ability to use various hand tools to produce a final product.
  • Ability to follow instructions and diagrams as delivered for each product
  • Familiar with metric system (beneficial)
  • The ability and willingness to learn and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability to identify bottlenecks in production and communicate to appropriate supervision/department.
  • Ability to perform daily tasks with no supervision.
  • Ability to train new hires and operate all of the machines within the production area
  • Ability to lift up to 80lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure orders are produced in accordance with layout on resource (schedule).
  • Informs material handler of missing parts.
  • Works with QA line inspectors to resolve current quality issues that arise during production.
  • Ensure lines are on track with production schedule.
  • Attend production team meetings on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Work directly with floor supervisor to coordinate manpower requirements to meet changing conditions.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment, staff performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve our goals.
  • Upload daily metrics (Value Strem).
  • Collect and ensure end of shift checklists are accurate.
  • Collect and transfer daily scrap to designated area.
  • Enforce company policies and safety guidelines.
  • Communicate any grievances to production supervisor.
  • Assess personnel strengths & weaknesses.
  • Maintain all tools and workspaces in a clean and organized manner. (6S principals)
  • Other duties as assigned.
