About the position

Near North Health, a longstanding pillar of Chicago's healthcare landscape, is seeking a visionary and compassionate Practice Manager to join our dedicated team. As Practice Manager you will play a pivotal role in our mission to serve primarily low-income uninsured or underinsured residents of Chicago's medically underserved communities by overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned clinical sites to ensure seamless patient flow and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage clinic schedules, patient appointments, and provider availability to optimize patient access.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrates Near North Health's Code of Ethics commitments, driving a culture that aligns with the organization's mission, vision and values.
  • Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clinical and administrative staff in collaboration with leadership, including scheduling, hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Ensure patient satisfaction by addressing concerns, improving service delivery, and maintaining a patient-centered approach.
  • Work collaboratively with Director of Risk Management to develop and implement risk management strategies to minimize liability and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Assist in the development and management of the clinic budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Work with revenue cycle manager to ensure accurate billing and coding practices to maximize revenue and minimize errors.
  • Implement new programs, services, and technologies to improve clinic performance and patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other departments and external partners to support organizational initiatives.
  • Drives outcomes through the monitoring of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that measure how effectively Near North Health is meeting its mission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Nursing, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare management, preferably in a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or similar setting.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with peers, patients, staff, providers, and external partners.
  • Proven ability to manage clinic operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, billing, and coding practices.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
