About The Position

Vet et Nous is a multidisciplinary team composed of veterinarian both generalists and specialists operating at high rank whose mission is to take care of client’s pets as if they were our own. Our teams are split in 3 emergency and reference centres open 24/7 and several general practice hospitals and clinics in the greater Montreal, Laval, Montérégie, Laurentides, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean and Quebec region. Your role is crucial for the health of our patients as you ensure they receive the correct medications and test results, so they can regain their health and good spirits quickly! You prepare requisitions for patients in consultation or hospitalized, medications, and laboratory tests performed in-house. Under the supervision of the pharmacy laboratory manager, ensure the smooth operation and workflow of the department to provide quality service to clients and patients. This is a permanent full-time position. The schedule is daytime, weekends, according to operational needs.

Requirements

  • Have a diploma as a pharmacy assistant or in animal health technology.
  • Have experience in a veterinary clinic (an asset).
  • Autonomous, resourceful, efficient, responsible.

  • Good judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Execute blood analyses and other in-house laboratory tests.
  • Properly prepare samples and send them for external laboratory tests.
  • Troubleshoot laboratory equipment issues and contact supplier technical support when necessary.
  • Prepare requisitions for patients in consultation or hospitalized, as well as drugs for the day's surgeries.
  • Prepare patient medications (oral and injectable medication).
  • Prepare prescriptions for in-house and external patients.
  • Answer client questions related to medication.
  • Monitor expiration dates.
  • Maintain the controlled drug register.
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the pharmacy and that supplies are always available.
  • Receive orders for medications and supplies from various suppliers.
  • Conduct research to verify the cost and availability of products for special orders.
  • Closely monitor inventory management through our Cornerstone software.
