About the position

The Power Generation Mechanic is responsible for operating, maintaining, testing, repairing, and servicing various electrical generating equipment and systems. This role ensures compliance with safety and quality standards while performing inspections, troubleshooting, and scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment. The mechanic plays a crucial role in supporting operational readiness and safety in various environments, including military and industrial settings.

Responsibilities

  • Examine electrical equipment and systems for damages, corrosion, and operation.
  • Connect and utilize test equipment and meters such as voltmeters, ammeters, megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Use common hand tools, tubing and conduit benders, and soldering irons.
  • Erect, repair, and service electrical power distribution systems and equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, test, repair, service, and store electrical generating equipment and water distribution systems.
  • Bench check repairable components and subassemblies using test equipment and load banks.
  • Test required gauges and meters to assure accuracy and reliability.
  • Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to prevent potential systems failure.
  • Analyze malfunctions by inspection and observation of operation.
  • Repair, inspect, fabricate, clean, and maintain BEAR assets/equipment for air/sea/road haul shipments.
  • Perform required inspections and scheduled maintenance on all assigned equipment.
  • Conform to USAF and company safety, hazardous material, and quality standards.
  • Assist in the erection, construction, and operation of Bare Base power generation equipment.
  • Ensure all tools and personal protective equipment remain safe and serviceable.
  • Prepare and complete documentation including Work Orders and updates in Maximo.
  • Operate material handling equipment as required.
  • Inspect Hazardous Materials and coordinate disposal when required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Vocational/technical training, licenses, or certificates.
  • Two (2) to Five (5) years related experience.
  • Primary and Secondary Power Equipment training required.
  • Electrical Safety training required.
  • Lightning surge suppression equipment training required.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform technical inspections.
  • Forklift experience may be required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must have authorization to work in host country.
