About the position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/NAR) position at Ebenezer involves providing hands-on care and support services to senior residents in a Skilled Nursing Facility. This role is essential for assisting residents with personal care tasks and ensuring their comfort and well-being. The position requires working evening shifts and includes every other weekend and holiday, contributing to a full-time schedule.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents based on individual care plans with personal cares such as bathing, oral hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, and showers.
- Respond to call lights and provide necessary assistance to residents.
- Check and record vitals as per community patient care model.
- Provide AM/PM/NOC cares, including peri care and catheter care.
- Turn, lift, or transfer residents with or without mechanical assistance.
- Observe residents and report their status to appropriate staff clearly and concisely.
- Document care and observations in the electronic medical record system.
- Address and resolve resident and family concerns effectively.
- Receive and give report to appropriate staff during various times in the work shift.
- Maintain order and cleanliness in rooms and work areas, report malfunctioning equipment, and answer phones in a timely manner.
Requirements
- Active as Nursing Assistant, Registered (NAR) on the MDH Nursing Assistant Registry by start date, or hired into Ebenezer's Nursing Assistant Course with a 4-month post-hire period to become active on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry.
- Ability to work with a diverse and geriatric population.
- Effective communication skills with compassion and understanding for residents and coworkers.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working as a Home Health Aide (HHA), Personal Care Assistant (PCA), Direct Support Professional (DSP), Nursing Assistant (NA), or Resident Assistant.
- Work experience in a customer service setting.
