The Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in Polymer Chemistry or Biomaterials at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School focuses on developing new technologies for cardiology and critical care. Responsibilities

  • Discover and create novel biomaterials for gas carriers and drug delivery applications.
  • Independently design experiments to test hypotheses and solve problems.
  • Gain experience in nanotherapeutic development from molecular design to in vivo safety and efficacy evaluation.

Requirements

  • PhD or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • Strong background in material synthesis and characterization, including organic and polymer synthesis or nanomaterials.
  • Experience in tissue culture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in multi-step organic synthesis and controlled polymerization techniques.
  • Strong understanding and skills in materials characterizations.
  • Experience in colloids and interfacial phenomena, such as foam, emulsions, lipid nanoparticles, self-assembly, or hydrogels.
  • Experience with small animals (not required).
  • Experience in ultrasound imaging, device fabrication, or 3D printing (not required).
