About the position

The drug delivery research team under the leadership of Dr. Giovanni M. Pauletti is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate with broad interest and experience in medical device/combination product design and development. Dr. Pauletti's lab works closely with The Center for Clinical Pharmacology, a research partnership between Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO and University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis. The successful candidate will participate in NIH-funded multidisciplinary research efforts aimed at creating and testing novel medical devices/combination products. Recent PhD graduates with experience in biomaterials and a solid background in analytical chemistry are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform biomaterials and medical device assessments, drug stability and metabolism studies, and quantitative drug analysis using HPLC and/or LC-MS/MS. The position is available immediately for an initial twelve (12) month appointment with the possibility of extension. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics, Biomedical Engineering, or other related field
  • Experience in medical device/combination product design and development; and biomaterials
  • Demonstrated ability to perform biomaterials and medical device assessments, drug stability and metabolism studies, and quantitative drug analysis using HPLC and/or LC-MS/MS
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary, team-oriented environment
