About the position

The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a Post Masters Research Associate focused on mass spectrometry imaging applications and method developments. This role is integral to the Environmental Molecular Sciences Division, where the successful candidate will contribute to advancing mass spectrometry-based omics in biological, chemical, and environmental research. The position involves preparing and analyzing biological samples, collaborating with a diverse team, and maintaining laboratory safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze a variety of biological samples for mass spectrometry imaging and applications.
• Assist in the advancement and development of the omics suite and Integrated Research Platforms.
• Collaborate with team members from diverse scientific backgrounds.
• Contribute to drafting SOP documentation, reports, papers, posters, and presentations.
• Maintain laboratory safety, organization, and efficiency.

Requirements

• Master's degree received within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated scientific and technical capabilities in mass spectrometry.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in analysis of small molecules, metabolites, lipids, and proteins using MS methods.
• Experience in biological sample handling, embedding, and cryosectioning.
• Experience in optical microscopy techniques.
• Record of peer-reviewed publications or industrial SOPs.
