About the position

Southern Land Company is seeking a full-time Porter to join their team in Philadelphia, PA. This role is essential for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of The Alcott, a luxury mixed-use property set to open in 2024. The Porter will provide exceptional customer service, assist in leasing apartment homes, and ensure a welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Remove litter and debris daily from all areas of the property including pool area, dumpster area, recreation areas, and walkways.
• Trash out vacated apartments by removing abandoned furniture, trash, and boxes.
• Assist in the cleaning, organizing, and maintenance of storage rooms.
• Distribute resident and commercial tenant communications as directed.
• Remove all debris from the garage and keep it clean.
• Empty trash containers and keep them clean.
• Empty recycling rooms and move recycling material to dumpsters.
• Maintain the pet park and remove pet waste.
• Clean and maintain the pet spa.
• Maintain the compactor, clear the trash chute, and swap out dumpsters from the compactor when full.
• Keep all stairwells clean and free from debris.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of practical experience.
• Fair housing training (can be provided).
• Ability to lift/move 25 lbs. regularly and 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Solid teamwork skills with flexibility to adjust to changing project requirements and deadlines.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with co-workers, residents, and vendors.
• Ability to anticipate the maintenance needs of the property.
• Must be reliable and present a positive, professional image.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
