About The Position

We are seeking an energetic and service-focused Pool/Beach Server to join our team at The Seagate. In this role, you’ll welcome guests to the pool and beach areas and provide prompt, friendly, and professional food and beverage service throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is committed to creating a seamless and enjoyable guest experience. The Pool/Beach Server will also be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of the area prior to opening, as well as conducting regular inspections and equipment checks to maintain a safe and inviting atmosphere.

  • Understand and promptly fulfill guest requests with creativity and efficiency.
  • Maintain a friendly and patient demeanor, especially during extended work hours.
  • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Adhere to The Seagate Hotel's policies and exercise good judgment consistently.
  • Ability to lift, balance, and carry trays of food weighing between 20-50 pounds.
  • Comfortable working in diverse environmental conditions, including hot kitchens and outdoor dining areas.
  • Capable of navigating through crowded dining areas, bending, reaching, and stretching to serve customers effectively.
  • Ability to work in extreme outdoor temperatures and adapt to flexible work schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays as required.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods, lift up to fifty pounds, and perform physically demanding tasks as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests warmly and provide detailed descriptions of menu items, including prices and preparation methods. Use suggestive selling techniques to promote house specialties.
  • Prepare standard bar beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, as required.
  • Set up appropriate table settings and service ware according to standards.
  • Perform regular walkthroughs of the pool area to maintain cleanliness and ensure all equipment is functional and properly placed.
  • Possess basic computer skills and computational ability for order processing and billing.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing, ensuring clear and pleasant interactions with guests, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Read and write to facilitate communication processes effectively.
  • Stand and exert mobility for up to four hours at a time, navigating between various hotel departments and pool areas promptly.
  • Lift trays of food or items weighing up to 30 lbs regularly, and push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs frequently.
  • Bend, stoop, squat, and stretch as necessary to fulfill cleaning tasks and maintain the pool area's cleanliness.
  • Demonstrate manual dexterity to operate required equipment effectively.
