Advanced Energy United (United) is seeking a full-time Policy Principal to join the Texas Advanced Energy Business Alliance (TAEBA) team and lead the organization’s engagement at the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT). This Austin-based role will be responsible for managing TAEBA’s day-to-day ERCOT strategy, stakeholder engagement, written comments, member coordination, and relationship-building with ERCOT staff, leadership, market participants, and other key stakeholders. The Policy Principal will serve as TAEBA’s lead staff person in the ERCOT stakeholder process, tracking market rule changes and policy developments, identifying opportunities and risks for advanced energy technologies, and developing high-quality regulatory comments, presentations, memos, and other advocacy materials. The role will require close coordination with TAEBA member companies and United colleagues to ensure that TAEBA’s ERCOT engagement is strategic, technically credible, timely, and aligned with organizational priorities. This position is ideal for a motivated self-starter with experience in energy policy, electricity markets, regulatory advocacy, or related technical analysis. The successful candidate will be comfortable working with complex market rules and technical materials, translating them into clear recommendations, and representing TAEBA in high-stakes stakeholder settings. The role will require regular participation in ERCOT meetings and related Texas energy policy discussions, as well as the ability to build trusted relationships with ERCOT staff, leadership, member companies, regulators, and market participants.
