Responsibilities

• Conduct police patrols
• Perform criminal investigations
• Enforce traffic laws and regulations
• Engage in related criminal law enforcement activities
• Participate in community involvement duties

Requirements

• Be a U.S. citizen at time of application
• Be at least 21 years of age by date of the written exam
• Possess a high school diploma or GED at time of application
• Hold a valid driver’s license at the time of application, and obtain a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
• Maintain a valid license during employment and notify the City of any changes
• Not have been convicted of a felony crime
• Not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence
• Not have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime that would affect ability to certify with the Colorado Police Officer Standards and Training (POST) Board
• Not have a DUI or DWAI within the last five (5) years
• Provide DD-214 for candidates with prior military service reflecting Honorable or Uncharacterized discharge
