About the position

The City and County of Broomfield is seeking applicants for full-time Police Officer positions assigned to Patrol. The Broomfield Police Department will pay year for year for your experience. Are you dedicated to making a difference in your community? Are you passionate about law enforcement?

Responsibilities

  • Perform law enforcement duties in a patrol capacity.
  • Respond to calls for service and emergencies.
  • Conduct investigations and gather evidence.
  • Enforce laws and regulations.
  • Maintain public safety and order.
  • Engage with the community to build trust and cooperation.

Requirements

  • Must possess current, valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification by date of hire or currently enrolled in a law enforcement academy.
  • High school graduate or GED equivalent (college credit is preferred).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Cannot have been convicted of a felony or a disqualifying misdemeanor involving moral turpitude.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid Colorado driver's license.
  • Ability to obtain valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid and CPR certifications.
  • Must successfully challenge the Colorado POST certification within 6 months of hire.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $39.30 - $54.64/hour | $81,744 - $113,651.20 annually.
  • Work scheduled on a rotating shift basis (Days, Swings, Graveyards) including holidays and mandatory overtime.
