About the position

The PMU and Power Systems Manager at Apple is responsible for leading a talented engineering team focused on the development and productization of firmware and software for the PMU and Power Systems across Apple's product line, including Apple Watch, iOS products, and Mac products. This role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration, innovation, and high-quality deliverables, ensuring that the operating systems are seamlessly integrated with Apple's hardware and software ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Hiring and retaining top talent for the engineering team.
  • Defining and delivering the team's roadmap with high-quality deliverables on schedule.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks in the program schedule.
  • Working cross-functionally to deliver product features.
  • Promoting a team culture that encourages innovation and sets high standards for quality and productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in SoCs, firmware, and device drivers.
  • Experience leading a team of software and firmware engineers.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software aligned with program schedules in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams to deliver successful products.
  • Experience hiring, retaining, and motivating high-performing talent within the team.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of embedded software/firmware development experience.
  • 5+ years of technical leadership and management experience.
  • Knowledge of System Management Controller and Embedded Power System Technologies.
