About the position
The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) position at Ethos Wellness - Westlake focuses on providing comprehensive psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and adults. The role emphasizes a holistic approach to mental health care, integrating psychopharmacology with lifestyle coaching and evidence-based therapies. The PMHNP will work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team, offering mentorship and support while managing a diverse patient population in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including assessment of psychiatric symptoms, history, and safety concerns.
- Manage psychiatric emergencies and collaborate with community agencies as needed.
- Develop biopsychosocial assessments and treatment plans based on best practices and evidence-based standards.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses and treatment options.
- Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, ensuring informed consent and safety standards are met.
- Recommend lifestyle modifications and nutraceuticals based on patient conditions and readiness for change.
- Make referrals to community partners for interventions not provided by the wellness clinic.
Requirements
- Board Certified/Board Eligible PMHNP.
- Licensed to practice medicine by the Texas Medical Board.
- Experience working with children and adolescents in the medical field.
