About the position

The PM Room Attendant at Embassy Suites Jacksonville is responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction by maintaining cleanliness and organization in the laundry area and guest rooms. This role involves collecting, laundering, and delivering fresh linens and towels, as well as addressing guest requests promptly. The position requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment and takes pride in creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Cleans assigned rooms/suites daily according to company standards, including vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
  • Dusts, brushes, polishes, and vacuums furniture; cleans showers, tubs, sinks, and bathrooms.
  • Makes beds and replaces used guest room amenities as necessary.
  • Provides information to guests about hotel services, facilities, and other available amenities in a courteous manner.
  • Reports all room maintenance items to the supervisor.
  • Greets all guests in corridors and projects a professional image of the hotel.
  • Maintains and controls proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Reports and turns in all lost and found items to the supervisor.
  • Adheres to guest room key control procedures and submits accurate room status at the end of the shift.
  • Maintains linen closets and carts in a neat and clean manner, properly stocking for the next day's work.
  • Performs turn down service in assigned rooms/suites and reports all 'refused service' rooms/suites to the supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Basic computer skills to operate a computer and enter information into a database.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a hospitality environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
