About the position

The PM Banquet Set-Up Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of banquet set-up operations during the evening shift at the Galt House, ensuring that meeting rooms, ballrooms, and event spaces are prepared accurately and efficiently according to guest specifications and hotel standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate with the banquet team and other departments, ensuring seamless event execution and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the banquet set-up team during evening operations, ensuring timely and accurate room configurations.
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings to communicate event details, set-up plans, and assignments to the team.
  • Ensure compliance with banquet event orders (BEOs), diagrams, and hotel standards.
  • Inspect all meeting rooms, ballrooms, and event spaces to ensure proper set-up, cleanliness, and readiness.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to set-up configurations, equipment, or furniture.
  • Collaborate with banquet captains and other departments to handle last-minute changes or special requests.
  • Attend BEO meetings to stay updated on upcoming events and ensure alignment with client expectations.
  • Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and address any disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Ensure the proper handling and storage of banquet equipment and supplies.
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and fire regulations, as well as hotel policies.
  • Manage inventory of banquet furniture, equipment, and supplies, and coordinate with purchasing for replacements or repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in banquet or event operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting BEOs and set-up diagrams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and equipment (up to 50 pounds).
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods during the shift.
