About the position
United Mechanical is seeking an experienced Plumbing Service Technician to perform maintenance, repairs, and alterations to commercial and industrial building plumbing/piping systems. This position is based in San Jose, CA and Alameda, CA.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and balance high rise building pressure issues.
- Troubleshoot and repair booster pump systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair boilers and associated components.
- Understand controls, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Install hot water and heating systems.
- Diagnose plumbing system failures such as system leaks and stoppages.
- Repair various plumbing components on a variety of challenging jobs, including water closets, sanitation systems, fire sprinkler piping systems, storm drainage systems, and HVAC hydronic systems.
Requirements
- Journeyman level experience with troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing plumbing systems (or ability to get Journeyman's card within 6 months).
- Applicable plumbing licenses/certifications (preferred, not required).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
