About the position

Mechanical Systems Company LLC, MSC is a fully licensed Mechanical and Plumbing contractor in Memphis, TN, focusing on commercial and industrial customers. We are seeking a Plumbing Project Sales Representative who is passionate about plumbing and has the right mix of technical and interpersonal skills. This newly developed position aims to support our business growth by adding a sales representative with specific knowledge of plumbing services. The successful candidate will support existing sales and accounts while also expanding our customer base, initially focusing on Memphis and the surrounding areas in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Mississippi. In this role, you will engage with property management teams, business owners, and decision-makers, demonstrating your plumbing expertise and relationship-building skills. The position requires navigating gatekeepers and conducting win-win negotiations to earn the trust of decision-makers. The sales cycle is slow, necessitating exceptional relationship-building abilities. We are looking for an experienced Plumbing Project Sales Representative who can prove us wrong regarding our year-one total earnings estimate. Responsibilities

  • Present Mechanical Systems Company to potential commercial customers
  • Qualify opportunities and win Plumbing Project Sales that fit customer needs
  • Accountable for all sales activities and customer relationships with commercial/industrial clients
  • Conduct cold calls to generate new business
  • Work with existing clients throughout the Mid-South

Requirements

  • Prior sales experience, preferably B2B
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
  • Must pass drug and background screens
  • Knowledge of the plumbing industry is preferred
  • Basic computer proficiency in Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Time and activity management skills
  • Knowledge and experience in making cost estimates for commercial construction projects is a huge plus
