About the position

The Plumbing Project Manager will oversee mechanical construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring all aspects of the project are managed effectively. This role requires a deep understanding of project specifications, coordination of resources, and compliance with safety regulations, all while fostering a dynamic and innovative work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating mechanical construction projects from conception to completion
  • Ordering materials/equipment, issuing subcontracts, developing billings, and managing RFIs and change orders
  • Maintaining a working knowledge of general conditions, work scope, and specifications of project contracts
  • Planning ahead to prevent problems and resolving emerging issues
  • Estimating and selling various types of projects: plan/spec, design/assist, design/build
  • Overseeing the preparation of fabrication shop work packages and understanding content including detail drawing review and material take-off
  • Working with the Safety Department to analyze and mitigate project risks and ensure safety compliance
  • Ensuring contractual conditions of performance are met

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Plumbing Project Management
  • Plumbing Journeyman License
  • Commercial & Industrial experience required
  • Bachelor's degree or demonstrated equivalent experience
  • Strong analytical and logic skills with high precision in detailed work
  • Stable background/work history
  • Proven working experience in Construction Management or related field
  • Knowledge of HVAC and Piping Systems, building products, and relevant regulations
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Proficient in P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Self-motivated with excellent time and project management skills
  • Experience with estimating is a plus

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is a plus
  • Experience with estimating for change orders
