About the position
The Plumbing & Fire Protection Department Head will lead technical efforts in a well-established engineering firm, focusing on various industry sectors including Mission Critical/Data Center, Residential, Education, Commercial, and Transportation. This role combines hands-on production work with technical leadership and mentoring of junior engineers, ensuring high standards in project management and client relations.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
- Oversee QA/QC processes and ensure project quality standards are met.
- Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
- Conduct engineering calculations and field/site surveys as needed.
- Develop and implement best practices and internal standards for the department.
- Engage in client relation management to foster strong partnerships.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience leading complex Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineering projects.
- Hands-on project management experience in engineering.
- Technical leadership experience with a focus on training and coaching junior engineers.
- Innovative mindset to improve internal standards and best practices.
Nice-to-haves
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is advantageous but not mandatory.
