About The Position

Clifton Steel Company, a family-owned business with over 50 years of experience manufacturing industry-leading products including armor for the US Military, is seeking a Plate Inspector for their 2nd shift. Requirements

  • Physically able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able to perform repetitive motions.
  • Able to lift Brinnel Indentors (30 lbs) to plates.
  • Ability to obtain lift certification.
  • Ability to measure and record Hardness and Flatness data.
  • Ability to input data into Epicor System.
  • Demonstrate ability to learn and utilize King Scan system and optical scopes.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience operating overhead cranes and gantry cranes.
  • Experience with Heat Treat Furnace operations.
  • Experience assisting at Wheelabrator.
  • Experience with customer-related inspection activities.
  • Experience with loading trucks or shipping products.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections.
  • Read work orders and use proper tagging methods for plate identification accuracy.
  • Read inspection tools including tape measure, micrometers, hardness tester, calipers, and gages.
  • Read customer specifications and work orders.
  • Obtain lift certification to safely operate lift trucks and overhead cranes.
  • Properly package material per customer or internal specifications.
  • Operate equipment efficiently to maintain acceptable part quality and production demand.
  • Perform customer-related inspection activities, including inspection of loads or authorizing the release of materials while loading trucks or shipping products.
  • Load plate utilizing overhead and gantry cranes in the Heat Treat Furnace.
  • Organize Heat Treat inventory.
  • Assist at the Wheelabrator during high demand.
  • Measure and record Hardness and Flatness data.
  • Input data into the Epicor System.
  • Learn and utilize the King Scan system and optical scopes.
  • Participate and become actively engaged in the Company Traction & L10 Process.
