About The Position

As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a crucial role in the operations of our Plasma Donation Centers. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety and eligibility of donors, which is vital for the collection of high-quality plasma that is transformed into life-saving medicines. You will work under the guidance of the Plasma Center Manager and the Center Physician, providing essential support in both operational and medical aspects of plasma donation. Your commitment to customer service and quality will be paramount in this role, as you interact with donors daily and contribute to their positive experience at our center. In this position, you will be responsible for determining donor eligibility through a series of assessments, including informed consent management, medical history interviews, physical examinations, and blood testing. You will also be tasked with evaluating donor reactions during the donation process, adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for medical emergencies, and ensuring that donors receive appropriate care when necessary. Additionally, you will manage employee incidents and collaborate with the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team to address any workplace safety concerns. Your role will also involve supporting vaccination programs for employees and potentially acting as a Pandemic Coordinator, where you will assist in investigations related to public health threats. This position requires a strong understanding of the plasma collection industry regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant environment for both donors and staff.
