About the position
The Plant Shipping/Handling Handler at Pregis LLC is responsible for the shipping and receiving of goods within the facility. This role involves maintaining an organized warehouse, operating forklifts, processing paperwork in SAP, and ensuring efficient inventory management. The position is full-time on the second shift, focusing on teamwork and adherence to safety practices in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive a forklift to stage material, load and unload trucks, and transfer material within the plant.
- Process paperwork in SAP and use RF guns for inventory management.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse to facilitate product location.
- Perform daily inventory checks and communicate necessary adjustments.
- Coordinate scrap material storage and oversee changes to the department storage floor plan.
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management regarding inventory and operations.
- Change out propane cylinders on the forklift as required.
- Move scrap materials to designated disposal areas and keep work areas clean following 5S guidelines.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and follow standardized work instructions.
